African Goldfields (Ghana) Inc.'s mining operations are headquartered in the West African country of Ghana. Originally named Gold Coast, the country is Africa’s second largest producer of gold. The precious metal has been exported from Ghana for centuries.
Ghana is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the South, Cote d'Ivoire to the West and Togo to the East. It became independent in 1957.
