As a result of geological good fortune, Ghana contains eight clearly delineated gold-rich mineral belts. AGF’s property is situated within the Ashanti gold belt, near the town of Prestea, in Ghana’s western region.

Prestea and the surrounding area is the location of significant gold mining activity. Canadian company Golden Star Resources operates a hard-rock gold mine reaching depths of 800 ft very near AGF’s property. Several major mining companies have concessions in the area, and there are a number of nearby small-scale mines.

AGF’s property features a vein that frequently appears at the surface. On the adjacent property, mining of the vein using simple hand tools produced consistent yields of over 1 oz/mt. When Warwick conducted systematic testing, assay results of over 3 oz/mt were recorded. Additional surface grab samples have run as high as 22.8 oz/mt.
